Yamdrok Yumtso Lake

Yamdrok Yumtso Lake, The word Yamdrok has a connection with Nomads. Yumtso means Mothers Lake, also known as Goddess, located around 90km one way from Lhasa towards the south, with a driving of around 2 hours. All the lakes in Tibet are known as Goddess and are taken sacred by the Local Tibetan people including the Yamdrok Yumtso Lake. Tibetans worship almost all the nature, worshipping means appreciating, which is the most humble deeds.

Yamdrok Yumtso Lake is also known as a Turquoise Lake because of its color. View of Yamdrok Lake becomes beautiful after crossing the Gambala Pass ( 4900M) we will see the spectacular view of Yamdrok Lake, which is a change of nature very sudden.
